When to sow outside: For mild climates only: 1 to 2 weeks before average last frost, and when soil temperature is at least 60°F.

When to start inside: RECOMMENDED. 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting. Provide adequate light to produce sturdy plants. Transplant when air temperature is 45°F or warmer, usually 1 to 2 weeks after the last average frost date. Ideal soil temperature for germination is 70°?90°F.

Harvesting: Artisan Tiger Stripes Blend tomatoes are at the peak of sun-ripened deliciousness when stripes can be clearly seen on red, pink, and green tomatoes, and have a slight give when gently squeezed. May be picked at first blush of rip color and ripened on the counter, still achieving the same great flavor.

At the end of the season, about 1 month before the average first fall frost, clip all blossoms and any undersized fruit off the plant. This will steer all the plant's remaining energy into ripening what's left. If you have a lot of unripe tomatoes near the end of the season and a frost is approaching, pick them and store them indoors in a single layer away from direct sunlight to ripen.
